Scleria verticillata merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan low nutrush. Nama ilmiah Scleria verticillata diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Gotthilf Heinrich Ernst Muhlenberg pada tahun 1805.
