Sclerocroton cornutus merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Euphorbiaceae (suku kastuba-kastubaan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Liberia, Pantai Gading, hingga kawasan tropis Afrika bagian barat-tengah dan selatan. Nama ilmiah Sclerocroton cornutus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Ferdinand Albin Pax pada tahun 1996.
