Scolosanthus crucifer merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Rubiaceae (suku kopi-kopian). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Kuba. Nama ilmiah Scolosanthus crucifer pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Charles Wright pada tahun 1869.
