Secale sylvestre adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan semusim dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Eropa timur-tengah dan tenggara hingga Asia timur-tengah. Nama ilmiah Secale sylvestre pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Nicolaus Thomas Host pada tahun 1809.
