Selaginella umbrosa merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Selaginellaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko selatan, Ekuador, Barbados, hingga Venezuela. Nama ilmiah Selaginella umbrosa pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Charles Antoine Lemaire pada tahun 1901.
