Semecarpus ater merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Anacardiaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Kaledonia Baru. Nama ilmiah Semecarpus ater pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis George Forster pada tahun 1861.
