Sesamum prostratum adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Pedaliaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari India, Assam, hingga Sri Lanka timur. Nama ilmiah Sesamum prostratum pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Anders Johan Retzius pada tahun 1786.
