Sessea stipulata merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Solanaceae (suku terong-terongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Ekuador hingga Bolivia barat. Nama ilmiah Sessea stipulata diperkenalkan oleh Hipólito Ruiz López pada tahun 1799.
