Setaria scandens adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan semusim atau menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko hingga kawasan tropis Amerika. Nama ilmiah Setaria scandens diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Heinrich Adolph Schrader pada tahun 1824.
