Sida urens adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan semusim atau menahun dari famili Malvaceae (suku kapas-kapasan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di kawasan tropis dan subtropis Amerika, Cape Verde, kawasan tropis Afrika, Madagaskar. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan tropical fanpetals. Nama ilmiah Sida urens pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carolus Linnaeus dalam Species Plantarum tahun 1759.
