Sideroxylon portoricense merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Sapotaceae (suku sawo-sawoan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko, Amerika tengah, hingga Karibia. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan puerto rico bully. Nama ilmiah Sideroxylon portoricense pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Ignatz Urban pada tahun 1904.
