Silene chirensis merupakan tumbuhan semusim atau menahun dari famili Caryophyllaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Mesir, kawasan tropis Afrika bagian timur laut, hingga Jazirah Arab. Nama ilmiah Silene chirensis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Achille Richard pada tahun 1848.
