Silene pendula merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Caryophyllaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan nodding catchfly. Nama ilmiah Silene pendula diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carolus Linnaeus pada tahun 1753.
