Silene sericea merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Caryophyllaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Baleares hingga Italia. Nama ilmiah Silene sericea diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carlo Allioni pada tahun 1785.
