Silene taygetea merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Caryophyllaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Yunani selatan. Nama ilmiah Silene taygetea diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Eugen von Halácsy pada tahun 1906.
