Sinclairia discolor merupakan tumbuhan epifit dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko hingga Amerika tengah. Nama ilmiah Sinclairia discolor pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis William Jackson Hooker pada tahun 1841.
