Sisyrinchium mucronatum merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Iridaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Kanada hingga Amerika Serikat bagian utara-tengah dan timur. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan needletip blue-eyed grass. Nama ilmiah Sisyrinchium mucronatum pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis André Michaux pada tahun 1803.
