Smythea papuana merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Rhamnaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Papua New Guinea. Nama ilmiah Smythea papuana pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Timothy Michael Arthur Utteridge pada tahun 2021.
