Solanum cobanense merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Solanaceae (suku terong-terongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari wilayah sepanjang Meksiko (Chiapas) hingga Guatemala. Nama ilmiah Solanum cobanense pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Johnnie Lee Gentry pada tahun 1973.
