Solanum defensum adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan dari famili Solanaceae (suku terong-terongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Queensland Utara. Nama ilmiah Solanum defensum pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Ferdinand von Mueller pada tahun 1866.
