Solanum pungetium merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Solanaceae (suku terong-terongan). Nama ilmiah Solanum pungetium diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Franz Sieber pada tahun 1852. Nama spesies ini merupakan sinonim dari Solanum prinophyllum.
