Solanum sellowii merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Solanaceae (suku terong-terongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari Brazil (Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo). Nama ilmiah Solanum sellowii pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Michel Félix Dunal pada tahun 1852.
