Solanum triflorum merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Solanaceae (suku terong-terongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Kanada hingga Amerika Serikat, Galápagos, Peru, Argentina. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan cutleaf nightshade. Nama ilmiah Solanum triflorum pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Thomas Nuttall pada tahun 1818.
