Solidago squarrosa merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Kanada bagian timur hingga Amerika Serikat timur. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan stout goldenrod. Nama ilmiah Solidago squarrosa pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Thomas Nuttall pada tahun 1818.
