Sonchus bourgeaui merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari Kepulauan Kanaria (Lanzarote, Fuerteventura), Maroko. Nama ilmiah Sonchus bourgeaui diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carl Heinrich "Bipontinus" Schultz pada tahun 1849.
