Sonchus crassifolius merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari Spanyol tengah dan timur. Nama ilmiah Sonchus crassifolius pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Pierre André Pourret pada tahun 1803.
