Sonchus fruticosus merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari Madeira. Nama ilmiah Sonchus fruticosus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carl Linnaeus the Younger pada tahun 1782.
