Sonchus pendulus merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Nama ilmiah Sonchus pendulus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Philip Barker Webb pada tahun 1849. Nama spesies ini merupakan sinonim dari Sonchus pendulus subsp. pendulus.
