Sonchus platylepis adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Kepulauan Kanaria (Gran Canaria). Nama ilmiah Sonchus platylepis diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Philip Barker Webb pada tahun 1849.
