Sonchus stenophyllus merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari wilayah sepanjang Kenya hingga Tanzania. Nama ilmiah Sonchus stenophyllus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Robert Elias Fries pada tahun 1925.
