Sonchus tuberifer merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari Kepulauan Kanaria (Tenerife). Nama ilmiah Sonchus tuberifer diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Eric R. Svensson Sventenius pada tahun 1948.
