Sophora microphylla adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah Selandia Baru, Chili tengah dan selatan. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan kowhai. Nama ilmiah Sophora microphylla pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis William Aiton pada tahun 1789.
