Sorghum controversum adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah India. Nama ilmiah Sorghum controversum pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Ernst Gottlieb von Steudel pada tahun 1955.
