Sphenopholis pensylvanica merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Missouri hingga Amerika Serikat timur. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan swamp wedgescale. Nama ilmiah Sphenopholis pensylvanica diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Albert Spear Hitchcock pada tahun 1915.
