Sporobolus aeneus adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Bolivia hingga Brazil dan Argentina timur laut. Nama ilmiah Sporobolus aeneus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carl Bernhard von Trinius pada tahun 1833.
