Sporobolus microprotus adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan semusim dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari kawasan tropis Afrika bagian barat hingga Ethiopia dan Kenya. Nama ilmiah Sporobolus microprotus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Otto Stapf pada tahun 1912.
