Sporobolus microprotus adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan semusim dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari kawasan tropis Afrika bagian barat hingga Ethiopia dan Kenya. Nama ilmiah Sporobolus microprotus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Otto Stapf pada tahun 1912.
