Sporobolus neglectus merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Kanada hingga Amerika Serikat. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan puffsheath dropseed. Nama ilmiah Sporobolus neglectus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis George Valentine Nash pada tahun 1895.
