Stachys lyallii merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Lamiaceae (suku nilam-nilaman). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma gurun pasir atau sabana kering di wilayah Madagaskar. Nama ilmiah Stachys lyallii diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama George Bentham pada tahun 1834.
