Stachys stricta merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Lamiaceae (suku nilam-nilaman). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah California barat laut dan utara-tengah. Nama ilmiah Stachys stricta diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Edward Lee Greene pada tahun 1894.
