Stenotus armerioides merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari wilayah sepanjang Saskatchewan hingga Amerika Serikat bagian barat-tengah dan tengah. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan thrift mock goldenweed. Nama ilmiah Stenotus armerioides pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Thomas Nuttall pada tahun 1840.
