Stevia copiosa merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari Bolivia (La Paz). Nama ilmiah Stevia copiosa pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Joséphine Thérèse Koster pada tahun 1945.
