Stevia viscida adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Arizona, Texas, hingga Guatemala. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan viscid candyleaf. Nama ilmiah Stevia viscida diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carl Sigismund Kunth pada tahun 1818.
