Stipagrostis obtusa adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma gurun pasir atau sabana kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Sahara, Pakistan, hingga Afrika Selatan. Nama ilmiah Stipagrostis obtusa pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Alire Raffeneau Delile pada tahun 1832.
