Striga lutea merupakan tumbuhan hemiparasit berumur semusim dari famili Orobanchaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari kawasan Asia tropis dan subtropis hingga Pasifik barat laut. Nama ilmiah Striga lutea diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama João de Loureiro pada tahun 1790.
