Strobilanthes frondosa merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Acanthaceae (suku jeruju-jerujuan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Bhutan hingga Myanmar. Nama ilmiah Strobilanthes frondosa pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis John Richard Ironside Wood pada tahun 1994.
