Strobilanthes rufescens merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Acanthaceae (suku jeruju-jerujuan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Assam hingga Myanmar. Nama ilmiah Strobilanthes rufescens pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Albrecht Wilhelm Roth pada tahun 1867.
