Strobilanthes tomentosa merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Acanthaceae (suku jeruju-jerujuan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Washington selatan hingga Meksiko (Baja California Norte dan Chihuahua). Nama ilmiah Strobilanthes tomentosa pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Christian Gottfried Daniel Nees von Esenbeck pada tahun 2009.
