Strobilanthes wallichii merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Acanthaceae (suku jeruju-jerujuan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Afghanistan timur, China selatan, Indo-China utara, hingga Taiwan. Nama ilmiah Strobilanthes wallichii pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Christian Gottfried Daniel Nees von Esenbeck pada tahun 1832.
