Strophostyles helvola merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah Amerika Serikat bagian tengah dan timur. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan amberique-bean. Nama ilmiah Strophostyles helvola pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Stephen Elliott pada tahun 1823.
