Styrax officinalis adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Styracaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Italia barat-tengah hingga Yordania barat laut. Nama ilmiah Styrax officinalis diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carolus Linnaeus pada tahun 1753.
